19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player won his maiden trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult season, winning just one match at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in especial - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term mentor Cervara.

Now working with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since that period of the previous year.

Success also signifies the Russian has won 21 victories at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.

His defensive approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the top level was finished.

But the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and play positively, backed up by an improved serving game.

He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the last five games to go ahead.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour title, took control to push for a third set.

The opponent defended four early-game break points in a close third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, he earned victory with a point at the net, with his opponent incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
